Community Service and Team Togetherness!
What we do (all of it) is community service! This idea about community service is one of many of our internal “tag lines” at Morpheus. It has multiple meanings — from the daily work that we do (where we believe that helping people love the person in the mirror helps them be better partners, parents, friends, employees and just better people in the world), to fund raising for local charities (like our Dog Days of Summer event), to individually volunteering and working in our communities.
Yesterday we closed the offices and had our summertime company-wide get together. We got to spend the morning volunteering at Forget Me Not Farms helping out with some of the basic chores that it takes lots of hands to get done on a working farm – mucking out stalls, cleaning up garden beds, weeding and harvesting. I love how what might seem like work turns into fun when it is novel and done with friends!
Then, we capped the afternoon with lunch at Hop Monk in Sebastopol (with beers, of course – we were taking the rest of the day off!) and incredible vegan birthday cake to celebrate Aishka’s 25th birthday! It is an incredible delight and privilege to work with these delightful women.
